What if my child is not in the mood to take photos?
Kids will be kids at the end of the day! They don’t care if we want beautiful family heirloom photos to cherish forever. With two boys of my own I get it!! But not to worry, my style of photography is mainly candid moments - the best photos I tend to get of children are when they aren't smiling at all and are interacting with you or the scenary. I advise all my families to approach their session with a sense of adventure and fun - try to think of it as an afternoon out with the fam and I just happen to be there too snapping away some memories. I will encourage parents to play games with their children to get them involved, for example lots of tickle wars, throwing in the air, piggy backs and twirling!
What is the best time to do a Newborn photoshoot?
Generally, the best time to shoot a newborn is before 2-3 weeks of age. This is the time when bub will be the sleepiest thus making it easier to ‘pose’ baby and get those beautiful sleepy shots without their limbs moving around too much.
What if the Weather is ‘bad’ on our photoshoot day?
To keep it simple, if it’s rainy we will reschedule. If it’s overcast and dry the session will go ahead.
- Overcast days are actually known as a photographer’s dream. The clouds provide a natural softbox effect which is very flattering on the skin. It allows us to capture the scene we are in at many more different angles than we could if the sun were out. Clouds can also provide your images with character and can create a more moody/emotional look.
- As much as I wish every day I shoot could be the perfect sunny day, that is not a reality living here in SEQ. The good news is I shoot often in overcast weather and know how to manage my lighting settings in order to give you amazing images no matter the conditions.
- I offer all my clients the opportunity to reschedule if it is raining/severe weather on shoot day.
When is the best time to have a Maternity photoshoot?
Between 30-36 weeks is best to show off that beautiful bump, and for your mobility and comfort levels.
